« Whoever puts its money at the service of others, is indeed a rich person.. » – Mère Teresa
Small Step Matters is a philanthropic initiative. We have no intention of drawing benefits from this platform, nor from any of its related financial operations. Notwithstanding, it is important to note that a flat rate of 5% shall be added on each funding pot and deducted from each donation in order to cover the operational costs of the platform, deducted either upon completion of the fundraising campaign or of the donation transaction.. Do note that once the budget of our operational costs provisioned by Small Step Matters has been reached, any surplus amount shall be reallocated as donations to the projects on the platform at the end of each financial year.
If you do not reach the total amount of your funding pot at the end of your fundraising campaign, to the flat rate of 5% will still apply but the corresponding amount will be recalculated based on the funds collected. Small Step Matters will also guide your search for the best possible alternative(s) to help you achieve your targets.
If you want to raise Rs 50,000 on the platform, the funding pot will be posted on the site at Rs 52,500. Operational costs will be collected first.
Once the operational costs of Rs 2,500 are reached, you will start collecting funds for your project.
If you only get Rs 40,000 by the end of your fundraising campaign, the first Rs 2,000 collected will be allocated to our operational costs, and you will be attributed Rs 38,000 at the end of your campaign. For the remaining Rs 12,000 to raise, Small Step Matters will liaise with you to identify your best options to reach your initial target.
Our goal is to democratize donations in Mauritius by using the first social crowdfunding platform in the country. We wish to place NGOs / foundations and individuals with social and environmental projects at the forefront, in the light. If happiness is the sum of enjoyable moments, be it small or big,, then solidarity is the sum of small steps and big steps. Advocators of progress or benefactors of the Mauritian society, we can all make a difference in our own way. All it takes is one step forward!
Whilst facilitating social donations for our users, we wish to adhere to the values of our Republic, which inspire the Mauritian nation and promotes the Mauritian value of “living together”, with its fundamental principles of prevalence of the common good, and of the preservation of its citizens’ rights and freedoms. By participating in the success of this platform, each user shall thus contribute towards building a better society in a country where it is good to live in for each and all of us. Each user shall have the moral obligation to respect human dignity, to act for societal progress or sustainable development, to encourage social entrepreneurship, and to act with honesty and integrity at all times.
