DESCRIPTION DU PROJET

Fondé en 2003 à Quatre Bornes par Hewlett Nelson et Jeau-Marie Bhugeerathee, le Magic Sports Club s’est engagé à rendre le sport accessible à toutes les personnes en situation de handicap. Initialement axé sur le basketball en fauteuil et debout, le club a rapidement étendu son impact. Dès 2006, ils participaient aux Jeux du Commonwealth, offrant à leurs athlètes des opportunités internationales. Des champions comme Cedric Ravet ont brillé, décrochant des médailles aux Championnats d’Afrique et aux JIOI. Malgré les défis, le club a persévéré, et dès 2015, il a élargi son impact et a révélé des talents comme Scody Victor, Noemie Alphonse, Roberto Michel et Mefooz Ozeer. Leur club démontre chaque jour que le sport est accessible à tous en battant les clichés.

Founded in 2003 in Quatre Bornes by Hewlett Nelson and Jean-Marie Bhugeerathee, the Magic Sports Club is dedicated to breaking down barriers and making sports accessible to all individuals with disabilities. Initially focusing on wheelchair and standing basketball, the club quickly expanded its reach. By 2006, they were participating in the Commonwealth Games, providing their athletes with international opportunities. Champions like Cedric Ravet have excelled, winning medals at the African Championships and the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG). Despite challenges, the club persevered, and by 2015, it broadened its impact, revealing talents such as Scody Victor, Noemie Alphonse, Roberto Michel, and Mefooz Ozeer. Their club powerfully demonstrates daily that sport is accessible to everyone by smashing stereotypes and breaking down barriers.
