Our Commitments

Small Step Matters has mandated a Committee to validating the projects that may be published on the platform, and to undertake a minimum of follow-up with the project promoters and donors.

Small Step Matters shall upload only the projects that will have been validated by its Committee. We want to give you the opportunity to give or contribute towards projects that seem steady and genuine. This is why all projects are subject to a preliminary evaluation before they may appear on the Site. However, we are not responsible for your donation: you must make an informed decision. In any case, all donations (after deduction of our flat rate for operational costs), shall be credited to project promoters in favour of fundraising campaigns launched on the platform.

Small Step Matters reserves the right to conduct spot checks for projects whose fundraising campaign is below Rs 300,000, yet shall not be liable for those that will not have not been checked. For projects of Rs 300,000 or above, we shall however monitor progress. . You will be kept informed through our website and our Facebook page.

Small Step Matters shall pay the full amount, less deduction for operational costs, of a successfully reached funding pot to its project promoter upon completion of its fundraising campaign.

Should the generosity of donors allow the project promoter to exceed its funding pot, Small Step Matters shall pay the full amount of the funds raised, less deduction for operational costs, up to a maximum of Rs 500,000. Any surplus above Rs 500,000 shall then be reallocated to another project on the platform in search of the last 25% of its funding pot (project « Nearly There ») by the Committee of Small Step Matters.

In the event of a case of force majeure or national interest, the capping at Rs 500,000 of the funding pot will not apply.

If the project promoter has not reached his funding pot at the end of its campaign, the project will be submitted to the Committee again in order to decide, in consultation with the project promoter, on the next steps of its fundraising needs, amongst the following options:

  • Extend its fundraising campaign to a maximum of 60 additional days,
  • Source the missing funds independently within a maximum of 60 additional days,
  • Disbursing the funds collected in part or in full upon completion of its fundraising campaign.

In the event that the project promoter does not reach its funding pot or does not comply with our Terms of Use, it may be that the funds collected, in part or in whole, shall not be allocated to its project. In such case, Small Step Matters, in consultation with the project promoter concerned and as a last resort, shall donate the aforementioned funds to another project on the platform in search of the last 25% to reach its funding pot (project “Nearly There”). You will also be kept informed on our website and Facebook page.

Small Step Matters is primarily a donation facilitation tool to promote well-informed, responsible and philanthropist actions. Therefore, no donation refund shall be made to donors, but they shall be kept informed of where funding has been allocated upon completion of the fundraising campaign on the website and on our Facebook page.
